Vancouver-based MeetAmi Innovations closes $29M seed round
With funding secured, U.S. expansion is now underway.
An early-stage fintech startup that helps wealth management firms navigate the world of digital assets is having no trouble procuring financial assets of its own. Vancouver-based MeetAmi Innovations Inc. today announced that it has secured USD $29 million in funding from Private International Consulting, an independently operated multi-family-owned European investment office.
What for? The firm said the funding will help accelerate the development of its technology platform and new features.
The problem: According to the startup, traditional wealth advisors are seeing increasing demand from clients to offer direct ownership options for digital assets. As such, advisors are seeking tools to help them diversify their portfolios and learn about emerging and alternative investments.
The solution: That’s where MeetAmi comes in. “We saw the gap in the market for traditional wealth advisors to connect to the fast-paced world of digital assets,” said Hashim Mitha, MeetAmi’s CEO and co-founder, in a statement. His company has created a suite of products and services focused on helping traditional wealth management firms invest in digital asset classes on behalf of their customers.
For example, the company has developed AmiLearn, an educational tool for understanding the digital asset ecosystem; in addition, MeetAmi built AmiPro, a software that enables wealth advisors to buy, sell and hold digital assets for their clients. Taken together, Sarah Morton, chief strategy officer and co-founder, says the firm’s services are meant to “open up the world of DeFi to advisors from learning to liquidity.”
