Vancouver-born Alida raises $20M to accelerate global growth

This is the second equity investment for the company since an investment by OMERS in 2012.

Alida (originally called Vision Critical), said it closed a $20 million Series D funding round by Round13 Growth Fund, a late-stage growth equity investment fund.

This is the second equity investment for the company since an investment by OMERS in 2012. Earlier this year, the company secured $12.3 million in debt financing from Comerica Bank, and previously in 2020, raised $27 million in growth debt financing from Vistara Growth, according to reporting in BetaKit.

The company, which specializes in customer experience insights, was founded in Vancouver in 2000 before moving its headquarters to Toronto in 2019. According to LinkedIn, of the company’s 400 employees, approximately 140 are based in British Columbia, including just one executive, Hermina Khara, senior vice president of people and culture.

The company said it would use the funding to accelerate its growth trajectory and execute its product roadmap. “This investment further cements our ongoing global expansion plans and our continued innovation strategy to deliver holistic software that transforms experiences for our customers,” said Ross Wainwright, CEO of Alida. “In addition to continuing to accelerate our innovation agenda to drive growth, we are excited to also leverage this investment for future strategic M&A activity.”


In connection with the funding announcement, Sanjiv Samant, managing partner of Round13 Capital will be joining Alida’s Board of Directors.
