Sports recruitment platform Streamline Athletes acquires The Stride Report
Leveraging Streamline's resources will bring sports outlet The Stride Report to the next level, says its editor-in-chief.
Streamline Athletes announced today it has acquired The Stride Report (TSR), a media platform that was founded in 2017 dedicated to the coverage of NCAA cross-country and track and field. The outlet provided analytical articles, features, rankings, predictions, recaps, and statistical breakdowns — that is until it abruptly shut down in June.
With its acquisition by Streamline Athletes, TSR will begin operations and return to covering collegiate distance running via articles, podcasts, rankings, and projections. With Streamline’s support and resources, TSR’s founder and editor-in-chief, Garrett Zatlin, will move into a full-time role.
Streamline Athletes is a data-driven sports recruitment platform that democratizes access to education and sport for student-athletes, while also providing collegiate coaches with an optimized recruitment process. The company was founded by former collegiate student-athletes, has 25 employees, and was recently a finalist in the 2021 New Ventures BC Competition. The startup has upwards of 50 B2B clients and projects to double its monthly recurring revenue over the next few months. They’re unique in that they generate revenue primarily via long-term B2B service agreements with universities versus exploitation of athletes.
“By adding The Stride Report to the Streamline Athletes family, we’ll be able to not only help high schoolers with their college recruitment, but also give them and their families a place to stay connected through their time at university,” said Alexandre Paré, founder and co-CEO at Streamline Athletes.
“No one covers collegiate distance running to the standard that The Stride Report does and we can’t wait to see Garrett accelerate his analysis under the Streamline Athletes banner,” added Brett Montrose, also founder and co-CEO at Streamline Athletes.
“This acquisition is everything that we’ve been working towards at The Stride Report,” said Zatlin. “Being able to leverage Streamline Athletes’ assets and resources gives us a chance to reach the next level.”
