For many, it’s not a positive thing when your name crosses Stephen Colbert’s lips. The Late Show host and long-time comedian has lampooned hundreds (thousands?) of politicians and Hollywood figures alike. We’re still not sure former Congressman Jason Chaffetz has gotten over being called a “seductive beaver mascot.”

But that wasn’t the case last week when Colbert took to his new segment “Romansplaining” to detail some of the new dating apps on the market.

The first app Colbert mentioned? Vancouver-based Snack, joking that its slogan of “Not your parents’ dating app” is great because no one wants to match with their mom. Hard to argue with that.

Founder and CEO Kim Kaplan was plenty pleased with her company’s spotlight.

The video-first dating app which is targeted at the Gen Z/TikTok demographic, raised $3.5 million in funding last year.

Other apps mentioned by Colbert in the segment include meme-heavy Schmooze and Bumble-owned Fruitz. The comedian also circled back on Snack, saying he was launching his own called Rex. We’ll, uh, let you figure out the link he drew to that.
