In the lead-up to Collision in Toronto on June 20-23, multiple gatherings will be hosted across select cities in Canada to unite and celebrate the country’s position as a growing, global tech powerhouse. Countdown to Collision Vancouver will take place in the Fairmont Waterfront, April 27, from 6-9pm.

Speakers on the night include Arthur Camara, co-founder of Dapper Labs—a major Vancouver success story; and Trung Phan, co-host of the Not Investment Advice podcast. Plus, the Vancouver Tech Journal crew and community will obviously be there.

Arthur was part of the founding team at Dapper Labs where he co-created CryptoKitties, the genesis project in the world of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). He currently leads product for NBA Top Shot at Dapper Labs, a company now valued at US$7.6 billion. Arthur will be talking about how it all started in Vancouver and where Web3 is going.

Trung is co-host of the Not Investment Advice podcast. He also writes on tech for Bloomberg Opinion and the SatPost newsletter. Previously, he spent a decade in finance and sold a comedy film script to Fox.

Collision co-hosts Sunil Sharma and Casey Lau will be in attendance to MC the event. Tickets are free and available on Eventbrite.

Countdown to Collision will then cross over to the east coast with events in Collision’s host city of Toronto (May 10), along with Brampton (May 18) and Montreal (May 25), with its final stop in Quebec City (May 26).

Collision will be the largest international gathering in the city of Toronto in more than two years. 33,000-plus attendees are expected to convene at the Enercare Centre from June 20–23, 2022.
