BrainStation, the digital skills academy with a major campus in downtown Vancouver, has agreed to acquire Wyncode, Florida’s leading coding and user experience (UX) design bootcamp. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
With the acquisition, BrainStation takes on a leadership position in the Florida digital skills training market, offering a suite of full-time bootcamps including Web Development, UX Design, Data Science, and Digital Marketing.
"The need for digital skills has never been greater than it is right now,” said BrainStation’s Vancouver-based vice president, Kyle Treleaven. “The founders, Johanna and Juha Mikkola, have established Wyncode as the premier provider of digital skills training in Florida since launching in 2014 as the first bootcamp in Florida.”
Treleaven added, “I couldn't be more excited to have their incredibly talented team join our mission to reshape the future of digital skills training. BrainStation will continue to invest in the future of digital skill training as we grow in New York, San Francisco, Vancouver, Toronto, London England and now Miami.”
You know who else is excited? Miami’s Twitter-famous mayor.
“BrainStation’s expansion into Miami underscores the tremendous progress our city has made as a global tech hub,” said Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami. “The quality of tech talent and the caliber of employers in South Florida are both on the rise, and we are thrilled to see BrainStation’s investment in our region and community in order to build on the foundation Wyncode has created here.”
