Bulletin: Burnaby’s Advanced Intelligent Systems one of 20 cleantech firms to split $55 million federal investment

Burnaby’s Advanced Intelligent Systems (AIS) received $400,000 for their Outdoor Cart Puller and Post Harvesting Robots as part of a $55.1 million federal investment in clean technology companies across Canada. AIS was the only B.C.-based company to receive funding as part of the announcement. The investment was made through Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC).
This funding will support small and medium-sized companies that are developing innovative solutions to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lessen the environmental impacts of conventional mining methods and support more sustainable agricultural practices, according to a government statement.

The global clean technology market is set to exceed $2.5 trillion by 2022.
Clean technology companies currently employ more than 195,000 Canadians in good, well-paying jobs, while helping reduce environmental impacts and meet climate change goals.
